We are proud of the services provided, which reflect the values of our residents. Chapel Hillians have a tradition of environmental consciousness as seen by an abundance of trees, waterways, attractive landscaped roads, beautiful parks, open spaces and greenways, and lovingly tended gardens throughout our neighborhoods. We are committed to the sustainability of our community. Our love affair with trees dates back to 1889, when cutting down a tree in town was punishable as a misdemeanor and carried a $20 fine.
